Every business here is ProActive about their role in halting throwaway culture by welcoming UYO = Use Your Own.

So, this is a cafe guide, but perhaps more than that, it is testimony that the hospitality industry is prepared to move away from single use serviceware. The next step? Request legislative support from our Government! Head to Takeaway Throwaways to level the playing field!

Cafe of the Day

At Coffee Studio we dig the planet. We want you to come and enjoy some seasonal kai at the cool space that is Corbans Art Centre. If you want to have a wander around the site whilst sipping your favourite brew, you're more than welcome to use one of our cups (just bring it back!) We make our own coconut/oat milk (we also have soy but that comes in a carton) We compost leftovers & scraps on site. Leafy greens, herbs and edible flowers come direct from our organic garden. Happy to adapt our menu as best we can to suit your dietary needs ~ Susan, The Coffee Studio

A ProActivist Cafe Guide Is What?

A Proactivist goes beyond talking ~ They roll their sleeves up and get busy with living and working the solutions.

In this context, here, on this website, and in this hospo community, ProActvist cafes & customers do reuse, making new normals to evolve.

Activists stir the shit but then the proactivists move us into real life action, that can build to become legislative and industry change.

It is post-cool: there is no need to impress anyone, just do the work, together.

So, we invite you to support small (and bigger) businesses who are proactively addressing the world’s struggle against throwaway culture.

Please imagine a motivational last line here ~ one that makes you want to start refusing single use forever, today.
