From The Gram

From our good friends @therubbishtrip 🌿 ~ "Backyard burying and burning of plastic and household rubbish. Just to be clear, we're not talking about putting a bit of paper and cardboard in your home fireplace here, people. We're talking about the practice of setting a match to general rubbish (i.e. plastics) or chucking it into backyard, unlined pits. Unfortunately, still widespread in NZ. Do you do this? Do you know someone who does this? Is it time we got better at calling this out and having the hard conversations with friends and family - for the sake of the health of our air, water, food and soil? Our first The Rubbish Guilt-Trip post reflects on our countless experiences of these practices across New Zealand. We call on New Zealanders to move beyond the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" approach to the burning and burying of general rubbish on private land and in private homes." Click HERE for more...
